Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault that took place shortly before 3 pm on The Downs, off Bishopdown Road, Salisbury on Monday (23rd September).
A man, described as white, with stubble and wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up, is thought to have approached a woman from behind and threatened her, before pushing her to the ground and making off from the scene, leaving her with minor injuries.
It is believed he made off through bushes in the Bishopdown Road direction.
Inspector Tina Osborn said: "We are investigating reports of an assault on a woman in the Bishopdown Road area. We are taking this report very seriously and my officers were in the area immediately after we were alerted to carry out searches.
"People are likely to see an increased police presence today while we investigate what happened. If you have any information that could help with our enquiries please stop one of the officers, or you can contact us through our website or by calling the control room."
