Because of high demand, Salisbury’s local radio station is seeking members to join its new promotions team.
Each year Salisbury Radio attends and hosts many of south Wiltshire and west Hampshire’s biggest and best events.
Since moving back into Spire FM’s old studios at City Hall, the station has been inundated with event co-ordinators and charity organisers wanting the station to appear at their event.
This means radio station bosses are looking for even more people to join their ‘Summer in the City’ marketing and promotions crew ‘The Pink Panthers’; so-called because they roam around wearing the station’s eye-catching bright-pink branded clothing.
“We are on the prowl for more Panthers”, says Salisbury Radio Managing Director David Harber. “We’ve already committed to eighteen events over the summer and would love to support more fetes, shows and community events.
“But we need yet more gregarious, fun-loving extroverts from the city to help us attend even more of these”.
This year Salisbury Radio will be at both Salisbury Racecourse’s Family Fundays, many Saturday markets in the city centre and charity events like Walk for Wards. This Friday, the team will be on stage at the A-Class Roofing stage in the Market Place for Salisbury Sings, a mass-karaoke event from 4.30pm until 9pm.
The Pink Panthers are tasked with getting people at events engaged in prize-winning activities like their ‘Spin to Win’ wheel where over £2,000 of prizes can be won.
People from the Salisbury area who want to get involved, who may have a few hours to spare and want to have fun assisting organisers at local events are invited to get in contact with ‘Head Panther’ Sam Alford by completing the form here.
The radio station says new 'Panthers' can get paid up to £15.00 an hour, depending on the event and its charitable purposes.
