Old Sarum and Longhedge Pantry are in need of adult volunteers to help wrap hundreds of Christmas presents this Sunday (15th December)
The pantry, based at the Old Sarum and Longhedge Community Centre, has been given hundreds of presents by The Salisbury Great Toy Appeal to share with the families that utilise their service, ensuring that no child goes without this Christmas.
Many of their families are struggling badly, and the Toy Appeal was set up to relieve some of that pressure. Hundreds of toys and thousands of pounds were donated via a Just Giving Page.
Now, the pantry staff and volunteers have the mammoth task of wrapping those presents, and Salisbury FC is providing the space to do so in one of the bars—but they could use more help.
If you can spare time from 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, 15th December, to help wrap the presents, please head along. It is for adults only (16 and over), as they don't want to spoil the magic of Christmas for children.
You only need to turn up and bring a pair of scissors. Wrapping paper and tape have already been sourced. There will be a ready supply for tea and coffee etc for volunteers - many hands make light work.
