Police have arrested two people in Downton following an investigation into attempted quad bike thefts in Dorset.
Officers from both Wiltshire and Dorset stopped a vehicle in Downton yesterday (April 6th 2025).
Both the driver and passenger were arrested by officers for a series of offences, including theft, possession of an offensive weapon, and driving without valid insurance.
It is understood that one of the vehicle's occupants was also wanted for failing to appear in court.
“The vehicle involved has been seized and two detainees have been taken into custody, where they will remain whilst we continue to make our enquiries and gather evidence,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
The arrests come after officers launched an investigation into break-ins across rural north Dorset where quad bikes had been targeted.
