Wiltshire Police are warning that as the weather gets warmer, fraudsters may be active in your area.
Wiltshire Police have recently seen scams involving the following trades:
- Patio jet washing
- Roofing
- Gardening and landscaping
- Driveway work
- Gutter cleaning
- Drain cleaning
A spokesperson said, "Please do not accept door‑to‑door traders who use pushy sales tactics or pressure you into agreeing to work.
"If you need a local tradesperson, please use local knowledge and choose someone who is well-established, licensed and insured.
"Please also keep an eye out for your neighbours. If you see any of the above work being carried out and you believe it may not be necessary, make enquiries and, if needed, contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on email: SalisburyAreaNPT@wiltshire.police.uk"
You can also report in the following ways:
- Call 999 if there is immediate danger or a crime is happening at the time of the call
- Call 101 or report online (https://orlo.uk/6AgBB) via the Wiltshire Police website for non‑emergencies
- You can also contact CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
