Truro the visitors to the Ray Mac tomorrow evening

Truro City are the visitors to the Ray Mac on Tuesday (20th August) evening for the next Vanarama National League South fixture.

Salisbury have had a good start to the season with a draw and a win, the latter coming at home on Saturday with a 1-0 victory against Slough Town.

The two sides were separated by a Josh Hedges goal, scoring from the penalty spot in the first half. Salisbury defended well for the win despite a spirited effort from 10-man Slough in the second half.

Truro City arrive following a good win away at Maidstone United on Saturday, following a defeat at home to Dorking Wanderers on the opening day of the season.

The ‘Tinners’ grabbed a late winner through Kabia after Maidstone had levelled in the 84th minute. Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain had given Truro the lead midway through the first half.

The Truro squad has a familiar name with former White Ben Adelsbury among their players. Adelsbury, 32, is in his second spell with the club and played for Salisbury City between 2010 and 2012, scoring a memorable goal in the playoff final against Hednesford Town.

Salisbury’s management team will have a decision to make in terms of selection following David Aziaya’s good performance on Saturday whilst deputising for the suspended Ryan Gosney. Gosney is once again available for selection.

Brian Dutton said ahead of the game, “Our visitors will be full of confidence coming into the fixture. They’ve just beaten Maidstone United on the road, have a highly experienced manager, and have a full-time team. I expect them to be fit and strong, and we’ll have to be at our very best to get the three points.”
