St Thomas's Christmas Tree Festival Returns

Now in its 21st year, the St Thomas’s Salisbury Christmas Tree Festival will once more bring seasonal cheer and the true meaning of Christmas to visitors

One of the biggest and most attended events of its type in the UK, this year’s Festival promises even more trees and a record number of musicians, providing an unforgettable Christmas experience.

The Festival opens on Tuesday, 2nd December and runs through to Sunday, 7th December.

Tuesday to Saturday, doors open at 10 am with the last visitors at 5.30 pm. Sunday times are 12:00 noon until 5:30 pm. Entry is free with The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor John Wells, opening the Festival.

With over 100 decorated trees and nativity scenes on show and backed by a continuous seasonal music programme, played and sung by talented local musicians, the festival promises to be a true feast for the senses and a reminder of the true Christmas message.

The local community has put in a great deal of effort to raise money for this year’s nominated charities: Clouds House and Julia’s House. Last year, the Festival was visited by over 12,000 visitors and they gifted over £20,000 to our nominated charities.

As well as the stunning creativity and ingenuity presented by the decorated trees, a vital part of the magic generated by the occasion is due to the continuous festive music programme provided by leading local groups, choirs, soloists, and bands. The Festival is both a visual and an aural event, celebrating all that is best about Christmas.

To provide some inner warmth, visitors can choose to sample seasonal treats and snacks, provided by our ever-willing Festival catering team.

For over twenty years, local residents and visitors from afar have made attending the Festival a vital part of their Christmas celebrations.
