Salisbury celebrates St George's Day

Salisbury's Market Place was busy with residents and visitors who came together to celebrate St George's Day yesterday (23rd April).

Salisbury City Council organised the festivities that saw entertainment, food, drink and music together to celebrate England's patron saint.

Craig Hicks and Dan Woodward of Salisbury Radio were on hand to provide the music and broadcast live from the centre of the city as a large number of people gathered and enjoyed what was on offer.

The day got underway with the Town Crier announcing the start of the celebrations and the St George's Day parade, which saw the City's councillors parade through the city in their red robes and tricorn hats followed by the Salisbury Giant.

There was also Story Telling, a Puppet Show and a mock courtroom showdown between George and the Dragon.
