Salisbury's new, free, local newspaper is out for the first time today.

Currently being distributed to our local Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets, plus a host of smaller shops and stores in our rural areas, the paper is free to collect and may even be dropped through your letterbox.

The Love Salisbury Observer features today's launch of Salisbury's Great Big Christmas Toy Appeal, Salisbury FC returning to winning ways and how Christmas will be celebrated across the city.

You can read the paper online by clicking here.

With thanks to local businesses, the Business Improvement District and the team at Salisbury Radio, the Love Salisbury Observer will start as a monthly free paper, growing to fortnightly early next year. 15,000 copies will be available to pick-up over the coming days.

The newspaper is a partnership with the Observer Media Group, but is written and managed from Love Salisbury's offices on Endless Street in the city. Editor Audrey Lucy says, "The team will be out and about today delivering free copies. We are here to help support the community and we hope the local community will support us by sharing stories".

Beth Doherty and Craig Hicks from the Salisbury Radio breakfast show will be in the Market Place today, handing out free copies in their bright pink Love Salisbury hoodies.

The city's Business Improvement District (BID) manager Dan Collins says, "We are delighted to work in partnership with Love Salisbury who have given local businesses a fantastic opportunity to promote themselves in print, online and on the radio.

"The launch of Love Salisbury will be a great benefit to the businesses in the city and the community as a whole."

Love Salisbury Managing Director David Harber says, "I am so grateful to our local businesses who have warmly welcomed our plans for a new locally owned and based radio station and newspaper. In particular I want to thank Salisbury BID who organised a series of great promotions through us ahead of Christmas to support shopping local this Christmas.

"I hope you enjoy our new publication, the next edition is in December and, of course, we are always open to receiving stories and suggestions".
