Residents are being encouraged to come along to the next Salisbury Area Board meeting later this week (Thursday, 26th Feb), which will shine a spotlight on local environmental action and how the community can get involved.
The meeting will start at 6 pm (with networking opportunities from 5:30 pm) at Salisbury City Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The evening will feature a series of presentations from organisations leading positive environmental initiatives in the area.
These include Wiltshire Council’s Climate Team, Share Salisbury, and the Salisbury Conservation Panel. Speakers will share updates on their projects, outlining ways residents can take part.
Alongside the environmental theme, the meeting will also include general updates from local partners and community leads. The Area Board will also consider a number of grant applications supporting a range of local projects.
Cllr Paul Sample JP, Cabinet Member for Environment, Climate and Waste, and Chairman of Salisbury Area Board, said: “This meeting is a chance to hear from a range of organisations dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and protecting the precious environment of our county.
“We hope people leave feeling inspired and enthused to do what they can in their own communities. As a large organisation, we are proud to lead the way on these vital issues, but there is only so much we can achieve alone. Meaningful change happens when local people and groups take action together. I look forward to seeing people there.”
