On Friday evening (18th March 2022) local businesses went head to head to be crowned quiz champions in aid of Salisbury Hospice Charity.
Organised by Sarum Rotary Club, the Charity Corporate Quiz had 24 teams enter from local businesses including Parker Bullen, There4U, ReQuire Consultancy and many more.
This year, the organisers pledged 80% of the proceeds to Salisbury Hospice, with the remainder going to Sarum Rotary’s charitable activities in the community.
With the quiz, a charity auction, and a raffle full of prizes donated by local businesses, the event managed to raise a total of £7,300 for Salisbury Hospice.
Taking to the podium was Woolley and Wallis’ team ‘Under The Hammer’ (table 13), who took home first place scoring a grand total of 60 points. In a close second place was Fawcetts (Table 6) with 56.5 points and in third place was Parker Bullen (table 2) with 55.5 points.
Salisbury Radio, who helped sponsor the annual Corporate Quiz, entered two teams into the quiz.
The Love Salisbury team, thanks to the quiz geniuses Philip Connolly and Marcus Reynolds from The Salisbury Office, took 5th place while the Salisbury Radio team outperformed 9 other businesses to come in 15th.
Speaking to Love Salisbury, Louise Compton, Salisbury Hospice Charity's Corporate Fundraiser said, "We had a fabulous time at the Charity Corporate Quiz and were delighted with such a wonderful amount raised.
"The funds will directly benefit the patients and families that Salisbury Hospice supports. We are very grateful to Sarum Rotary and everyone that so kindly attended and supported this event."
