In 2027, Salisbury marks 800 years since receiving its royal charter.

This moment shaped Salisbury’s identity, its rights, and its historic Charter Market. From May to November 2027, the city will come alive with events, performances, exhibitions, talks, trails, and community projects celebrating our history, creativity, and future.

This anniversary is a chance to explore our past, showcase today’s talent, and imagine what comes next. Planning is already underway, but the heart of the programme will be the people who live, work, and create here. We’re building a celebration that feels authentically Salisbury, rooted in community involvement, and we’d love you to be part of it through ideas, volunteering, partnerships, or sponsorship.
