Registration Ceremony Officers help to create a day to remember for couples marrying or forming Civil Partnerships in Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Council is inviting people to come and meet the Registration Ceremonies team to find out more about the role and watch a typical ceremony demonstration at Bourne Hill, Salisbury SP1 3UZ on Saturday, 14 January, from 2 pm – 4 pm.
Cllr Ashley O’Neill, Cabinet Member for Staffing and Communities, said; Following the Covid pandemic, we have seen a surge in the number of people booking ceremonies and we now have vacancies for six Ceremony Officers to work across the county.
“This could be the start of a new adventure for anyone that loves weddings and this
event on Saturday will be a good opportunity to talk to current team members about the role.”
Ceremony Officers work with couples to help create their perfect day and perform ceremonies at venues across Wiltshire. They perform a range of ceremonies, including, Marriage and Civil Partnership, combination ceremonies, conversion of Civil Partnership to Marriage, Celebration of Marriage and Welcoming Ceremonies.
They work with couples to create a ceremony that truly reflects their wishes, advising them on vows, promises, music and readings. They also offer personalised elements such as Hand tying, Sand ceremonies, Unity candles and more.
Four are based with Salisbury's Bourne Hill Team, one with the Chippenham Team and one with the Trowbridge Team.
