Two taken to hospital after A30 London Road collision

Emergency Services this morning were dealing with a collision between two vehicles on the A30.

The collision is reported to have happened on the Bishopdown Farm roundabout near Parkwood Leisure and Fitness this morning at 10:05 am (9th January 2023).

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the collision with two crews. They assisted one person from their vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and made the vehicles safe.

Ambulance crews from South Western Ambulance Service took the two drivers of the two vehicles, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s to Salisbury District Hospital.

The road has now fully reopened following the incident.

13:20 - Update:

The road has reopened.

12:10. Update from Wiltshire Police:

"We were called at shortly after 10:05 am this morning to a two-vehicle collision on London Road in Salisbury.

Both drivers of the vehicles, a man in his 80's and a woman in her 50's, were taken to hospital with injuries."

11:46 - Update from South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust:

“We were called at 10.05hrs to a road traffic incident in Salisbury.

We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer and conveyed two patients to Salisbury District Hospital."

11:25 - Update from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service:

"Crews assisted one casualty from one of the vehicles using cutting equipment and handed them over to ambulance for medical care. A second casualty had freed themselves before arrival of the fire service crews.  The crews made one vehicle safe and isolated the other due to being a hybrid."

"We were called to London Road, Salisbury, at 10.11 am this morning following a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

Two crews from Salisbury attended, and one person was assisted from their vehicle with the use of hydraulic cutting equipment. The vehicles have been made safe.

Both police and ambulance are also in attendance."
