A former prison tutor has been jailed after admitting misconduct while working inside a Wiltshire prison.
Kelly Duffey, 36, from Amesbury, was sentenced to 12 months at Winchester Crown Court.
She pleaded guilty to two counts of misconduct in public office after forming an intimate relationship with an inmate at HMP Erlestoke between July and September 2024.
The case was investigated by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit, with officers finding a mobile phone used for communication inside the prisoner’s cell.
The inmate, Ashley Goodridge, also admitted possessing the illicit phone and has had his sentence extended by 12 months.
Officials say the case represents a serious breach of trust within the prison system.
