Train services to start later, and engineering works cause disruption

Train strikes end after Saturday, and it will be a slow start as services return to normal on Sunday.

Services won't start until 7:30 in the morning, and trains through Salisbury will also be affected by engineering works.

Following the five consecutive days of industrial action by RMT, ASLEF and TSSU workers have effectively closed Salisbury's train station, and services restart on Sunday.

This affects both South Western Railway (SWR) and GWR services through the city.

Trains through Salisbury from Exeter travelling to and from Waterloo will start and terminate at Basingstoke due to engineering works. Replacement buses will run from Basingstoke.

GWR services to Portsmouth Harbour are subject to small timetable adjustments because of engineering works in the Eastleigh to Fareham area, including early morning/late replacement buses.

Passengers are urged to check before they travel.
