Tough week for The Whites continues against Maidstone United

The weather looks to be far more favourable as Salisbury prepare themselves for the re-arranged fixture against Maidstone United.

The original fixture was postponed after the match referee decided to call the game off a little over an hour before kick-off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Maidstone come into the game unbeaten in the last five and you have to go back to early September for their last league defeat. The run of five includes two away wins against Aveley and, most recently, on Saturday, a two-nil win away at Truro City.

Antony Papadopoulos scored a long range effort in the first half, and Matt Rush added a second in the second half. The result means they leapfrog Slough into 9th place.

That means Salisbury play the team in 9th for the second game in a row.

Salisbury returned from Slough with a well earned point, but will feel slightly disappointed it wasn't more after The Rebels scored deep in added time to level the game at 1-1.

Jordan Ragguette gave Salisbury the lead in the first half when his cross-come shot beat Charlie Horlock and nestled in the net at the far post.

Salisbury defended well for the majority of the game but were unable to prevent Leon Chambers-Parillon's long-range effort in the 9th minute of added time arrowing into the back of the net.

The draw keeps Salisbury 19th in the table, six points above the relegation places.

Brian Dutton's side need all the support that our city can muster, so get yourself along to the Ray Mac for a 7:45pm kick off.
