St Josephs Catholic School hosts ‘Race for Life’ to support Cancer Research UK

St Joseph's Catholic School is demonstrating its commitment to the community and charity by hosting its annual charity run on July 19th, 2024.

This marks the fourth year the school has partnered with Cancer Research UK, reflecting a strong sense of meaning and support from the school.

The event, which will take place on the school grounds, will see students running, walking, and maybe even dancing their way around a 5-kilometer course. The aim is to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, a cause that touches many hearts in the community.

The students have shown tremendous enthusiasm and dedication, making the event a highlight if the academic year.

Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship money, which goes directly to Cancer Research UK. The charity works tirelessly to find new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

Cancer remains a significant health issue, with one in two people diagnosed with the disease at some point in their lives. Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years thanks to the advancements in research. However, continued support and funding are crucial to making further progress.
