Her Royal Highness, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was in Salisbury today to dedicate a tree and celebrate inter-faith relations in the city.
Alongside Salisbury's Mayor, Councillor Atiqul Hoque and the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Sarah Troughton, she unveiled a plaque for the multi-faith communities in the city.
Her Royal Highness was visiting Salisbury to celebrate the multi-faith community of Salisbury, Cllr Atiqul Hoque’s installation as Salisbury’s first Bangladeshi Mayor and the continuation of his theme for the year of bringing the community together for the benefit of everyone.
Also in attendance at the event were Mr Pradeep Bhardwaj - High Sheriff of Wiltshire; The Revd Canon Edward Probert- Canon Chancellor of Salisbury Cathedral; Councillor James Sheppard - the Chairman of Wiltshire Council, and Bruno Drapron - the Mayor of Saintes.
