Slough slay Salisbury in the FA Cup

Salisbury's FA Cup adventure for the current season are over after a 3-0 replay defeat at Slough Town.

Salisbury couldn't conjure up the sort of domination in the game that left many feeling they were unfortunate not to win the initial game, and things were not helped when Aaron Simpson was sent off in the first half.

Salisbury were facing an uphill battle from the start. Sido Jombati slipped in the box and inadvertently handled the ball. The assistant referee flagged, and the penalty was given. Johnny Goddard stepped up and slotted the ball home, sending Gould the wrong way.

If being one down to higher league opposition wasn't a big enough task, Salisbury's challenge became even greater when they were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Aaron Simpson following a foul on Slough's player/manager Scott Davies.

Salisbury started the second half well, creating some pressure, but were unable to really test Slough's Saturday hero Rohan Luthra.

Salisbury then fell further behind as Goddard doubled his tally from the day after good work from David Ogbonna teed him up on 52 minutes.

Temi Enekwa wrapped things up 20 minutes later when he tapped home for an easy finish after Josh Gould failed to gather a corner and put the game beyond Salisbury.
