Shared Ownership may be a way to rural living says property developer Abri Homes at The Tidings, in Old Sarum.
With recent Nationwide research showing house prices in predominately rural areas have increased by 22% over the last five years, countryside living has become an increasingly popular way of living for many.
Property company Abri Homes are keen to share the benefits of ‘Shared Ownership’. Abri Homes say they offer an affordable solution for those seeking a rural lifestyle, with their collection of 35 Shared Ownership homes at The Tidings, in Old Sarum.
Their first two and three-bedroom homes will be available to purchase from £98,000, based on a 35% share (other shares available).
With ‘Shared Ownership’, buyers only require a mortgage for the portion of the home they wish to purchase, typically resulting in a lower deposit compared to buying on the open market.
Buyers acquire a share of the property and pay rent on the remaining portion.
Stuart Hensby, Sales & Marketing Director at Abri Homes, said, “We’re seeing an increasing number of buyers hoping to move to rural areas as a way to escape the crowds and embrace a more peaceful lifestyle, and in turn demand for affordable housing in these locations is on the rise. It also provides an opportunity for local buyers who may have been priced out of buying a home where they grew up.
“For many, the coveted countryside lifestyle is becoming out of reach. We hope The Tidings will offer a clear route onto the housing ladder where, over time, buyers can invest in their future and gradually step up to full ownership in a countryside village.”
