Salisbury welcome Worthing to the Ray Mac in league clash

Worthing visit the Ray Mac for only the second ever time this evening (3rd December).

This is the first meeting between the two clubs, however, Worthing have played at the Ray Mac before when they did the double over Salisbury City in the 2004/2005 season. The beat City by two goals to one in February 2005.

19 years on, Worthing visit again for their first match against Salisbury FC and arrive on the back of an excellent win against Weston-super-Mare.

It was Worthing’s first win in four after two defeats and a draw and the 3-0 win against Weston has put them back in the play-off places in seventh.

Temi Babalola and Muhammadu Faal had given The Rebels a two-nil halftime lead before Danny Cashman scored a third to put the game beyond doubt just before the hour mark.

Over the last ten games, Worthing sit third in the form table, picking up 19 points, only bettered in terms of points by Weston.

At the weekend, Salisbury ended a run of seven league games without a win, beating Hemel Hempstead 3-0.

A devastating 16-minute spell in the second half gave The Whites all three points at the Ray Mac as they put five past a beleaguered Hemel side.

Brian Dutton says that he expects a tactical challenge when Worthing arrive and is looking forward to pitting his wits against Chris Agutter.
