Salisbury Hospital invites community for a fun look behind the scenes

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is inviting us to immerse ourselves in what life at the hospital is all about.

Visitors will be able to discover more about the workings of their local hospital with various demonstrations, activities and displays.

The day offers something for all ages, including the popular ‘toy hospital’, hi-tech lifelike simulation manikins and therapy pets. There will also be visits from emergency services such as police and fire departments, and a search and rescue service.

Attendees will be treated to a tasting menu courtesy of the hospital’s catering team. In addition, there will be lots of information about NHS careers.

Chief Executive Lisa Thomas said: “We are delighted to invite everyone from our community to come and get a behind the scenes look at what our dedicated staff do every day to provide quality care to our patients. They’ll learn about many of the fascinating things that go on in our hospital that they would not normally get to see. This will be a great day of fun and entertainment for the whole family. If last year is anything to go by, we will have lots of laughs and smiles.”

Several departments will showcase their services, and visitors will get to tour parts of the hospital site, including the new Imber Ward. There will be live music and activities for children.

The Open Day will be held from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, 8th June.

Parking will be free, and food will be available.
