Salisbury Hospital celebrates its hardworking staff at awards creremony

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust celebrated their hardworking staff earlier this month at their Staff Awards ceremony - held in Salisbury's Cathedral Close.

The evening’s event had already started on the 8th of September when the sad news came of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Frances Canham, one of the Trust’s chaplains, offered prayers and attendees took part in a moment of reflection.

At the ceremony, 14 awards were given to individuals and teams who work in various areas across the hospital – in clinical and non-clinical roles. Staff who were unable to attend as they were working the night shift were given a special pizza treat delivered by Slinky Fox.

CEO Stacey Hunter said, ”Everyone at the hospital has such a crucial role in the delivery of patient care, whether that’s directly as a clinician or in other vital roles.

"Whilst it’s great to recognise team successes or significant achievements at our Staff Awards, I also think about the contributions our staff make on a daily basis and things that I have seen over the last year in my role as CEO. They’ve each delivered or supported patient care in unprecedented times, faced new challenges and found alternative ways to overcome them. All this, whilst showing a continued commitment, loyalty and dedication to delivering the best service they can.”

The hospital’s League of Friends and the Stars Appeal charity provided generous support that enabled the event to take place.
