Salisbury hit Stoneham for seven as they progress in the cup

Salisbury progressed to the third qualifying round of this season's FA Cup with a comprehensive victory away at AFC Stoneham.

Goals from Ragguette, Leggett, Sommerton and Silva did the damage, with Tyrell Sampson grabbing a consolation for the hosts.

Salisbury came out of the blocks fast, spreading the ball around nicely on the artificial surface and grabbing an early goal. The ball was whipped in from the right-hand side, and Jordan Ragguette scored his first goal for the club in the 8th minute.

The Whites doubled their lead just two minutes later when Josh Sommerton found Tom Leggett in the D on the edge of the box. The midfielder hit a well-struck shock that cannoned in off the left-hand upright.

Another good ball in from the right led to Salisbury's third after 15 minutes, and Josh Sommerton headed home from inside the 6-yard box.

Dutton made a very early change after 20 minutes with Hedges coming off and Silva coming on as the Salisbury manager looked to protect some players who've played a lot of football already this season.

It didn't take Ronan Silva long to get up and running - he added his name to the score sheet in the 37th, dispatching a ball in from the right high into the net beyond the despairing dive of Lee in the Stoneham goal.

Salisbury had taken their foot off the gas a little as the half crept toward halftime, but Azaiya hadn't been troubled at all, and Salisbury deservedly led 4-0.

Dutton made one further change at the break with Luke Wilkinson being replaced by George Franklin.

Salisbury were playing the ball around nicely, and the first bit of real action for Aziaya was picking the ball out of the net after Tyrell Sampson snatched one back for Stoneham after 54 minutes.

It wasn't going to be a fightback, and Salisbury controlled the game. It only took four minutes to restore their four-goal lead when Ronan Silva swept home his second of the match and Salisbury's fifth.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Silva made it a hat trick with another smart finish before he wrapped up the scoring in added time, his fourth of the game.

The comprehensive win puts them in to the hat for the third qualifying round draw, which will be revealed at 1pm on Monday afternoon.

Up next for Salisbury is the visit of Chippenham Town on Saturday, 21st of September. Kick off at 3 pm. Tickets are available on the website - https://www.salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/
