Salisbury FC travel to Gosport Borough this weekend to take on the team in third place in the Southern League Premier South.
Salisbury will be looking for back-to-back wins following their 2-0 victory over Poole Town last weekend. Two stunning goals from Aaron Simpson and Ryan Penny gave the Whites their third win in the last six games.
Brian Dutton's side have had a bit of a sticky start to the year after their good run of form saw them top of the table for much of November and into the start of December.
Salisbury still sit second in the table, six points clear of Gosport, but they have played two games more than the Hampshire-based side.
The game pits two of the meanest defences against each other. Gosport have conceded the fewest in the league (29), whilst Salisbury are the third tightest, having conceded 33.
Gosport have also been on a bit of a tricky run of form, picking two wins, two draws, and two defeats in their last six games.
Last time out, they comfortably beat Dorchester Town 3-0 away at The Avenue Stadium, Dorchester. First half goals from Daniel Wooden, Harry Kavanagh, and Gerson Da Costa giving Borough the win.
Gosport have issued a rallying call to their supporters ahead of the game tomorrow, saying on their website, "If ever there was a game when the BORO’ needs it’s ‘Twelve Man’ the BORO’ fans it’s this Saturday."
The game kicks off at 3 pm on Saturday (17th February) at Gosport's Privett Park ground.
Salisbury FC's Supporters Club are running a coach to the Plymouth Parkway match (Saturday, March 2nd). The coach will leave the Ray Mac at 11am, costing £20 for members and £22 for non-members.
