Salisbury District Hospital COVID death toll rises to 241 as a further three patients pass away

The COVID-19 death toll at Salisbury District Hospital has risen to 241 as the hospital confirms three further deaths.

A spokesperson for the hospital said, "Sadly, we can confirm that a further three patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Friday 4th February.

"Two patients were in their 80s and the other patient was in his 70s. All had underlying health conditions. 241 patients in total have now passed away.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

According to the hospital, the number of COVID-19 positive patients being treated there continue to fluctuate and they continue to experience COVID-19 related deaths.

There are currently 24 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

"We would ask the public to remain cautious and to take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission, such as mask wearing in crowded places and good hand hygiene. In addition, people should take up the invitation for a COVID-19 vaccine when offered. It is never too late to get a first vaccine.”
