Salisbury City Council invite members of the public to put themselves forward for co-option as a Councillor.
A vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Salisbury (Salisbury St Paul’s Ward) of the City Council.
This vacancy can be filled by co-option to the Parish Council since no election has been called during the legal period following the publication of a vacancy.
Salisbury City Council encourages applications from anyone in the City who is eligible to stand as a City Councillor. To be a City Councillor, you must be:
• 18 years of age or over at the date of application;
• A British citizen, a Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of a European Union country; and
• A local government elector within the parish; OR
• Have worked in the parish for the last 12 months; OR
• Have lived in the parish, or within 3 miles of it, for the last 12 months; OR
• Owned land/property in the parish area for the last 12 months.
The Councillor Co-option Application Form and a copy of the relevant policy, which sets out the process, can be found on the Salisbury City Council website here.
The Application Form must be completed and returned to the City Council by 5 p.m. Friday, October 25th, 2024.
The Full Council will consider applications at its meeting on Monday, 4 November.
