Salisbury Cathedral is free from scaffolding for the first time in a very long time.
The building has had various levels of scaffolding around its structure for 38 years as repair works took place.
A topping-out ceremony took place last year to celebrate the final part of the extensive works, and now all the scaffolding is gone.
Gary Price, Clerk of Works at the Cathedral, said, “I feel a bit sad about not being able to look at the amazing carvings done by our team but incredibly proud of and humbled by what they have achieved.
“It has been a great honour and a privilege to have been able to work on this incredible building since the start of our modern repair programme."
Salisbury Cathedral posted on social media, saying, "We've waited 38 years for this view! With the scaffolding fully removed from the Cathedral's East End, we can now admire the original beauty of the entire exterior as it would have looked in the 14th century after the Spire was added."
But they say work on other parts of the cathedral continues, "With an ancient building like ours, there's always more work to do! Our next phase is to restore the cloisters."
