Serve On's international response team has been green-lighted to deploy to Turkey as part of EVOLSAR, the European Association of Civil Protection Volunteer Teams
Their specialist Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team are responding following the devastating earthquakes in the region.
Just days before, on Saturday, Serve On’s IRT volunteers had been honing their skills at the Station 60 purpose-built Urban Search and Rescue rig at Clyst St George, with thanks to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
Now the responders are ready to use their skills in a real-life disaster situation.
Serve On’s International Response Team (IRT) comprises a highly trained team of experts available 24 hours a day to save lives by responding to disasters anywhere in the world.
With over 20 years of experience and 22 international deployments in history.
The team spent the early part of the week preparing equipment. The International Response Team gathered their technical search equipment, power tools and personal kit, and the Command Support Team volunteers helped with the extensive planning and communication that precedes any such mission.
