A total of 116 drivers were dealt with for various motoring offences when Project Zero returned to Salisbury last Wednesday (22nd November).
Project Zero is a roads policing operation held every Wednesday at a different location in the county.
It sees officers targeting drivers committing any of the fatal five offences in a bid to reduce the number of casualties on our roads.
While the work taking place is very much everyday work for our RPU officers, the project sees the department intensify resources to target those who are driving at excess speed, drink/drug driving, using a phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt or driving in a careless or dangerous manner.
The majority of offences dealt with this week were excess speed, along with mobile phone use and driving without sufficient insurance.
A/Insp Will Ayres said: “Our team of roads policing officers will continue to work alongside the community speed enforcement team to target these offences throughout the county, in a bid to keep our roads safe and ensure road users feel safe.”
