Repairs to Culver Street Car Park structure complete

Works to repair the structure of Culver Street Car Park in Salisbury have been completed.

The works got underway in June this year, intending to improve the structural integrity of the car park.

Work was estimated at the beginning of the project to cost £600,000.

Repairs have been carried out to the facility's structure, including the brick columns, floors and brickwork.  The flooring surface and ramps on levels two and three have been replaced, which should help to reduce the noise for nearby residents. Barriers and planters throughout the facility have also been either strengthened or replaced,

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Operational Assets, said: “We’re pleased that this work has been successfully carried out. Visually there is little noticeable change, but importantly the infrastructure has been improved, and the building is structurally safe.

“We thank everyone for their patience and for bearing with us during the repair period.”
