Recycle for Wiltshire Air Ambulance currently send off 100kgs a week of recycling, but they want to collect more.
The Salisbury based volunteer group collects everything from crisp packets, baby food pouches, bread bags, pringle tubes and oral care packaging at their recycling drop off point at The Phoenix Emporium, Salisbury.
The recycling is then sent off to Terracycle, who award credit based on how much recycling is donated which is then turned into cash for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
In their last donation, the Salisbury team, originally launched as a Facebook page in 2014 by Lesa Snook and Sam Peters, donated a grand total of £55,000.
“In Salisbury alone, we send off 100kgs a week of recycling. This not only raises money for a great life-saving cause but also prevents waste from going to landfill,” explained Sam Peters.
The group are currently calling on residential homes, B&Bs, hotels, sandwich shops and cafés to donate their bread bags.
“We currently send off approximately 8kgs a month of bread bags but we would love to send off more. All brands are accepted and can be saved up and donated at the drop off point at the Phoenix Emporium,” said Sam.
