A person has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car on the A338.
Emergency services were called just before midday and closed the road shortly after because of the collision.
Wiltshire Police released a statement that said, "Drivers please be aware that the A338 Downton Road just past the M&S garage is currently closed following a serious RTC.
"The road is likely to be closed for several hours. Please find alternate routes."
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said, "We were called at 11.57 am on Monday, January 15, to a road traffic incident on the A338, Salisbury.
"We sent two double-crewed ambulances and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southampton General Hospital."
