The Amesbury Carnival Committee has unveiled a new addition to its Carnival week lineup – the Solstice Sounds Festival.
This vibrant music night festival, a fresh twist on the traditional Carnival music night, will take place on the evening of the Summer Solstice, Friday, June 20th, at the Carnival show ground on Holders Field.
Headlined by renowned acts such as 'N-Trance' and the Madness Tribute band 'One Step Behind', the festival will also feature 'Crowdeoke' led by local celebrity DJ Paul Alex. This one-night-only pre-carnival event promises to be a major highlight of the Carnival week. Throughout the weekend Stokes Funfair have promised to provide the towns biggest funfair yet, with 10+ major rides and plenty of smaller attractions for all ages - along with plenty of food and drink vendors adding to the affordable 'Solstice Festival' vibe.
Kyle McCletchie, 2025 Carnival Committee Chair, expressed his enthusiasm: “We have worked hard to create an outstanding lineup for this year's music event. The Solstice Sounds night and Carnival day will be nothing short of epic!
"Together with the Chamber of Trade, Amesbury Town Council, Stonehenge School (who kindly loaned the ground) and other stakeholders; we will be delivering a whole weekend of entertainment for Amesbury to remember - culminating in the amazing procession and show ground events on Saturday.
"The show ground on Saturday will be teeming with entertainment and the funfair will be nothing short of spectacular, this years event will put Amesbury firmly back on the map”
The Solstice Sounds Festival will be held at Holders Field on Friday, June 20th, the night of the Summer Solstice. In addition to the major music acts, the Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team is tipped to join the evening's entertainment.
The Friday night event will be followed by the main Amesbury Carnival show and Processsion on Saturday, an event that has historically attracted thousands of attendees for a day of family-friendly fun at Holders Field - which is already billed to feature medieval jousting, a high-octane vehicle filled stunt show and 'Dingle Fingle'.
The highlight of this year's Carnival, however, will be the return of the procession... Local schools, youth groups, businesses, and clubs have eagerly signed up to participate in the new procession route, marking a vibrant comeback after the cancellation of the event during the COVID pandemic.
Tickets for the Friday night event and Saturday Carnival day start from just £2 and are available online now.
