Mayor of Salisbury plans tree to celebrate the City’s multi-faith community

The Mayor of Salisbury has planted a tree to celebrate the City’s multi-faith community following royal visit

The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Atiqul Hoque, planted a tree at Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Monday, 30th October, following the visit of Her Royal Highness, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, to our City.

Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque on a Magnolia grandiflora tree during her special visit on 14 September 2023 to celebrate the diversity and multi faith community in Salisbury.

The tree has now been planted in Queen Elizabeth Gardens alongside the plaque which reads:

'This tree was dedicated by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh on 14 September 2023 to celebrate diversity and inter-faith relations in the City. Attended by the 762nd Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Atiqul Hoque.'
