After being tipped off and being asked to investigate building work in the former BHS building in the Old George Mall, Love Salisbury has spoken to the centre manager Arnold Catterall to clear up any rumours of a new business occupying the site.
Arnold confirmed that work has begun to merge the former BHS and Hotter shoe shop units.
He told Love Salisbury, “We are removing the old BHS shop fittings so that once these works are complete we will have a clean, more desirable unit which, it is hoped, will be let more easily as prospective retailers can see what is there and how they could use the space.”
While no one has signed up to move into the space at present, Arnold promises to keep us up to date with any changes.
After being reported as the best bounce-back city for retail recovery, Arnold is hopeful that new retailers and businesses will be encouraged to come to Salisbury.
