Laverstock Live replaces Live @ the Farm

The popular music event, Live @ The Farm, won't happen this year after landowners decided the land is unsuitable for large-scale events.

Last year's event attracted around 4,000 visitors during the late May bank holiday weekend, but The Devenish Bradshaw Charitable Trust, who own the land which had leased the area to River Bourne Community Farm, decided that due to "increasingly severe weather conditions" have made the land unsuitable for events of that size.

However, as one door closes, another opens, and Salisbury Live, who partnered with Riverbourne Community Farm, is now hosting a new event at Laverstock and Ford Sports and Social Club.

Acts were already booked, with Oasis Maybe and The Fogues headlining the new event called 'Laverstock Live'.

Colin Holton from Salisbury Live said, "We had all the infrastructure in place for the bands. Because it's a bank holiday, we have got the acts booked, so we just needed a venue."

The sports and social club is already licensed to host 2,000 people on the site, meaning a smaller, one-stage event.

Colin added, "It's sad we're not at the farm because we have been there for years.

"We're not saying it's in place of the farm; we're just saying it's an event taking place on that day."

Before Laverstock Live, Salisbury Live will be 'launching' their 2024 calendar of events with their launch event this weekend on Sunday, 5th May, at Salisbury Rugby Club.
