Here's your chance to climb a monolith the size of Stonehenge

Have you ever wondered how the ancient builders of Stonehenge put together such a magnificent structure? Or have you ever had the overwhelming urge to climb one of the giant sarsens? Well now’s your chance.

A climbing wall, or monolith, the same height as the sarsens at Stonehenge has been installed outside of Salisbury Museum today (17th August 2021), giving anyone up for the challenge a chance to climb.

The Wiltshire Outside Learning Team will be joined by English Heritage experts from Stonehenge to give visitors an insight into the world of the Stonehenge builders.

The climbing wall will be open until 4pm today and is suitable for those aged 5 and above, who can fit into a harness, and climb a 24 feet high rock. No booking is required. Normal admission charges apply.
