Mark Mewse, a former Salisbury City Councillor, has had his suspended sentence over turned following an uncontested appeal.
Mr Mewse, 64, was cleared at Salisbury Crown Court on Wednesday, 4th September.
The conviction handed down following a trial at Salisbury Magistrates Court in April had led to a 12-week suspended prison sentence after he was found guilty.
A former colleague and partner alleged that Mewse had harassed her for over ten months. Still, at the appeal, the prosecution didn't oppose the appeal. It offered no evidence, with Assistant Judge Advocate General Jane England overturning the conviction and stating that his "good character" remained intact.
The process lasted around 40 minutes in Salisbury's Crown Court.
Mr Mewse stepped down from his post at Salisbury City Council and apologised to the residents he served after the original trial.
