Five Star Salisbury Thrash Struggling Slough

Salisbury triumphed as 5-1 winners over Slough Town thanks to a hat-trick from Nathan Odokonyero, goals from Caine Bradbury and Jaiden Bartolo, and a penalty save from Will Henry as the cherry on top.

The evening began with both teams looking for an early lead, with the most threatening chance from Bartolo against his former side after some combinations down the left-hand side with Odokonyero and Jeremy Sivi, but the finishing touch escaped the Gibraltian.

However, it was the visitors who took the lead in the 25th minute through Reading loanee Shay Spencer with a thunderous curled effort into the top-right corner after a pass back to Henry from Dan Ellison was caught short and squared into the middle for the opener.

Salisbury were determined for an equaliser after an early sucker-punch, and found it just before the half-time whistle via a tap-in at the front post by Ollie Morgan for the toe of Odokonyero, who picked the ball up and ran straight back for the restart.

Brian Dutton's side weren't done here, though, as Bradbury leapt like a salmon in the box in additional time and looped a header over a helpless Rebels keeper after a cross from Bartolo to complete a first-half comeback.

In the 57th minute, the Whites were at it again, as Morgan launched a pass down the channel to Odokonyero, who danced round the oncoming goalkeeper, and slotted it into an empty net for his brace and our third.

The marksman then completed his hat-trick just two minutes later after another assist from Bartolo, wrapping a curled effort into the bottom-right to make it 4-1 in SP4.

Despite the Whites dominating heading into the final whistle, the referee deemed Thomas had tripped his man in the box and awarded the Rebels a penalty.

Drakes-Thomas stepped up and powered a shot to the left of Will Henry, but the Whites number one pulled out a confident save to add to the Rebels' woes.

To rub salt in the wounds further, Bartolo took on a powerful and determined run into the opposition penalty box, and the referee blew for a Whites pen.

Already on a hat-trick, Odokonyero let Bartolo have his moment to grab a goal, which he did with ease into the bottom right for five goals on the night to round off a wonderful performance.
