Other distinguished guests included the High Sheriff of Dorset, Callum Bremner JP; the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Martin Nye; the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Police, Catherine Roper; and members of Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority.

Local people with awards included:

SM Dan Burton (District Commander, Salisbury) - 20-Year Long Service & Good Conduct Medal

FF Nick Pope (Salisbury) - 30-Year Long Service & Good Conduct Medal

Chief Fire Officer Andy Cole said: “Our awards ceremony is an important event for the whole Service, as it allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our colleagues from across all parts of our organisation.”

He added: “It is also an opportunity to give personal thanks to families and friends, whose support is so essential to our staff and the work they do for the Service, and to recognise the positive impact of employers who allow their staff to be on-call firefighters. We could not do what we do without them.”
