Salisbury welcome Farnborough back to the Ray Mac on Saturday for their third meeting this season, with each team registering a win so far this term.
The two sides first met this season in the Vanarama National League South in early September, when Farnborough won 3-1 in their home fixture.
The sides met for the second time in the Isuzu FA Trophy in mid-November. Again, it was the home side who prevailed, Salisbury winning 3-0 with all three goals coming in a blistering 12-minute second-half spell.
Farnborough are currently going through a tricky patch, having not won since the end of November. Spencer Day’s side have only picked up 1 point since that win at home against Chippenham on November 30th.
They played their most recent fixture on New Year’s Day when they lost 1-0 away to Bath, Scott Wilson scoring the only goal of the game midway through the first half.
Farnborough’s match last Saturday (4th January) against Chesham United due to a frozen pitch when the match referee deemed the pitch unplayable at 11 am.
Salisbury did play on Saturday, their match at Sittingbourne surviving the cold weather – with Salisbury being knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy, 2-1 away from home. Salisbury’s Ronan Silva grabbed a late consolation from the penalty spot deep in injury time.
In the league, Salisbury are unbeaten in their last three, the last league game saw a 0-0 draw at home against Warren Feeney’s Weymouth on New Year’s Day.
Salisbury’s groundsman, Pete Robinson, is working hard to ensure the pitch is playable on Saturday, but with freezing temperatures due overnight, there will likely be a pitch inspection on Saturday ahead of the fixture. The club will communicate any information about pitch inspections as promptly as possible.
