Salisbury have discovered their opponents in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, the first time the club have reached this stage of the competition.
Salisbury will play Eastbourne Borough at the Ray Mac on the weekend of Saturday 17th October. It was the first game drawn in the Southern section of the draw which took place jsut after 2pm this afternoon.
So far in the competition, Brian Dutton's side have progressed thanks to a 4-1 win over Taunton Town and a 5-0 demolition of Dulwich Hamlet.
Salisbury are also performing well in the league, sitting third in the table, just one point behind table toppers Maidstone United and unbeaten in their last six league games. The Whites haven't lost a competitive game since the 29th August.
Salisbury Manager, Brian Dutton, was pleased to get a home draw, "I'm delighted to get another home draw.
"The players are feeling very good about themselves right now and would give any side a match. We can't wait to get back out there and try and reach the first round.
"Eastbourne shouldn't be overlooked, two seasons ago they were fighting for a NLS title and still have lots of step 1 and 2 players amongst there ranks.
"We will be treating them as we do every opponent with the upmost respect."
Their opponents in the Fourth Qualifying Round overcame Thame United by a single goal to nil in the Third Qualifying Round and beat Whitehawk 4-2 away from home in the first qualifying round.
Eastbourne Borough currently play i the Isthmian League Premier division after they were relegated from National League South last season. THey currently sit 11th in the table after a mixed start to the season.
The competition has netted Salisbury £9,000 so far, with at least another £3,125 in prize money still to come. However, if they win their Fourth Qualifying Round match, that would add another £9,375 and give them a chance to draw against a big football league side from League One or League Two.
