Thousands of people flocked to Durrington Recreation ground last weekend for the annual Retro at the Rec and Sunday Funday events held over the Bank holiday weekend.
With Retro in its 7th year and Sunday Funday in its 14th year, Disco Dion and the Sunday Funday crew put on two fabulous events aimed at both old and young to enjoy.
Sponsored by Saphire Utility Services and Porton Garden Centre, the event, which was primarily held as an opportunity to bring the local communities together, also raised over £2500 for local groups, organisations and charities.
Stalls, Inflatables, Face Painting, and a selection of food vendors were also on offer, with displays from Wildcatz Warriors cheerleaders and a dance masterclass with Jas from AYDC.
There was a special 'Spin to Win' from Salisbury Radio; the crowds were also entertained nonstop by Disco Dion in the arena.
Raising money for local groups and charities was an added bonus to the fun had by all who attended.
Organisers, Dion and Emma Spencer, said, "A massive thank you to the entire Sunday Funday team, Vendors, Stallholders and Carbooters who all made the weekend one to remember.
'We were overwhelmed with the support from the local community and those who had travelled from further afield to enjoy the fun, games, competitions and dances."
Dion and Emma are already planning next year's event, which will be held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August, which will see Sunday Funday celebrate 15 years!
The team are looking for sponsors for next year's event so they are then able to give more back to the local community.
