Salisbury FC have announced the loan of George Franklin on loan from Oxford United.
Franklin signed his first professional contract with the U’s last month after being at the club since he was nine.
He has had an impressive youth career. In the 2022/23 season, he captained Oxford’s youth team to the FA Cup Quarter Finals, where they eventually lost to Manchester City.
He spent time on loan at both North Leigh and, latterly, at Bracknell last season and made his full debut for Oxford in a 3-1 win against Northampton Town in the EFL Trophy on September 2023.
The 20-year-old defender comes straight into the squad for the match against Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.
Brian Dutton said on securing the loan, “I’m delighted to continue and strengthen our relationship with Oxford United. We had a fantastic loan from the last season with Richard McIntire.
“George coming in will be another really exciting and talented player that Oxford has produced. We look forward to working with him and progressing his career.”
