Child hit by car in Amesbury after it failed to stop at a red light

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old girl was hit by a car on London Road in Amesbury, sustaining minor injuries.

In a statement, WIltshire Police said, "At around 3.40pm yesterday (15th October) a silver car, believed to be a Mercedes A-class, travelling from the direction of Tesco Extra towards Amesbury town centre has failed to stop at a red light, colliding with a child.

"We believe the area was very busy at the time and we would like to thank the members of the public helped the child.
