Back to back defeats for first time this season

Salisbury have lost two league games in a row for the first time this season after a 1-0 defeat away to Walton & Hersham.

The game lacked quality with the game lacking any chances of note for the first half an hour, until the home side took the lead.

Walton broke with a long ball forward which found Ibrahim Olutade through on goal. He carried into the box and finished well past Gould to open the scoring with the first shot on target in the game on 33 minutes.

Salisbury created their first chance of note four minutes later, but Ryan Penny dragged his shot wide from 25 yards out and it was 1-0 to the hosts at halftime.

The second half didn't offer much more in the way of goal-mouth action.

Josh Gould produced a good save after 52 minutes when Eddie Simon turned well in the box before getting a shot away.

Salisbury huffed, and they puffed, but they were unable to find the finishing touch. It's the first time Brian Dutton's side have failed to score in the league since the 0-0 draw with Hendon in August.

Despite the defeat, the Whites remain second in the table because of goal difference, level on points with Chesham United in top spot.
