The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade held its annual Festive Fayre in Central Car Park on Sunday 4th, December, with the event being hailed by many as the most successful yet.
Supported by Amesbury Town Council and 1st Amesbury Scouts, the event offered a Santa’s Grotto, children’s entertainment from Blake Entertainment, stalls, rides and displays.
There was live music from The Duskhounds, Amesbury Community Soul Singers, the massed choir from the various Amesbury Primary schools and Shrewton Silver Band.
The fayre culminated in the Tree of Light Service led by Rev Barry Davis, remembering absent loved ones and showing appreciation for the NHS and Armed Forces.
Natalie and Mick Brannon from Bluesky Retreat turned the lights on.
Vicky Parks, the chairperson for Stonehenge Chamber, said, "We'd like to thank everyone who made the event possible – to all those who attended, ServeOn for their logistics support and the mini army of volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day.
"Many happy memories were created; seeing Santa and Mrs Claus leave on the Sleigh was just magical, and the event has raised money for two great charities - Blue Sky Retreat and 1st Amesbury Scouts.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s event, and the Chamber is actively seeking volunteers to help organise their busy calendar of events throughout the year. For more information, please get in touch with stonehengechamber@hotmail.com
