A 'flying' start to Christmas

Christmas is coming early to the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop this month as it plays host to a fundraising Christmas Fair.

The museum is hosting 35 local independent traders and artists inside the surroundings of their Hayward Hall, giving people the chance to buy a range of special gifts for their loved ones.

With everything from jewellery to shortbread, original artwork to cocktails, candles to chutney, visitors will have lots to browse.

There will also be festive music provided by vintage ‘disc jockey’ Gramofun, playing music on their vintage and contemporary gramophones as well as Christmas craft activities for children provided by Feathered Skies Nursery and Pre-school.

Chief Executive of the Army Flying Museum Lucy Johnson said, “We are very excited about this lovely event at the Museum which we hope will get people in a festive mood in the run up to Christmas. With so many lovely stalls nestled in amongst all our wonderful exhibits, it really will be a sight to see.”

The Apache Café will also be open for visitors during the day and will be serving a range of festive treats alongside its usual menu. So why not grab a coffee and look out over the historic airfield.

Tickets for the Christmas Fair are £3 for adults and £1 for children.
